2006 & 2007 Bordeaux Futures

2007 Bordeaux Futures: Sherry-Lehmann’s Advance Offering
“The finest 2007’s tend to be dark ruby-colored with purple highlights, sweet, ripe berry fruit similar to black cherries and black currants, medium body, silky tannins, low acidity, and pure, round, charming personalities with good equilibrium. By and large, the wines lack density, structure, and serious long-term aging potential. Most will be drinkable as soon as they are bottled (actually, many are so precocious, they could have been gulped down as barrel samples), and should age surprisingly well for 10-15 years. Truthfully, most consumers will probably love the style of the vintage’s top wines because they are so flattering, seductive, and fruit-forward.” —Robert Parker on 2007 Bordeaux
In limited quantities! Michael Aaron and Chris Adams traveled to Bordeaux for a week this past April to taste these wines, and came away regarding the best wines of the vintage as charming and delicious. We believe these wines will be consumable young, and are therefore a nice opportunity for customers who are waiting for their 2005’s, 2003’s and 2000’s to age.
Not all chateaux made exciting wines, and for this reason, we’re offering fewer than usual. This offering includes the best we found.
Moreover, we’ve traditionally opted not to offer Sauternes and dry whites in our futures’ campaigns, but 2007 is unique. The 2007 dry whites and Sauternes we tasted in April are a cut above. 2007 is indeed a very special vintage for these wines—we’ve therefore taken a significant position and want to give our customers a chance to secure these special wines as early as possible.

2006 Bordeaux Futures: Sherry-Lehmann’s Advance Offering
In limited quantities! The 2006 vintage has turned out to be a much better vintage than we anticipated. We are pleased to offer a selection of wines that represent the very best of what this famed region produced. While our offering is about half as large as our initial 2005 offering, we’ve taken the time to taste and select the wines where the Chateau was able to produce something special.
After tasting the 2006 vintage this past April 2007, we came home very pleased at the quality of the best properties. The wines show great balance and ripeness—there are some outstanding wines here that we believe will move quickly!
